Do Good Guys Really Finish Last?

We have all heard the saying, “Good Guys Finish Last”! Are there any Good Guys left in this city? If you read my very first post “Sex and the City” (Check it out if you haven’t read it) you understand my take on Single Life in the City. I like to believe I know a few Good Guys (but they don’t count because they’re fam & close friends), but my question still remains where the hell are the Good Guys nowadays?

Let’s all take a trip down memory lane. I remember sitting in elementary school and when a boy liked you he would send you a note asking you to be his Girlfriend and to check YES or NO. Even at a young age if the boy was a bookworm, wore glasses, shy, not that cute, or not in the “IN” crowd I would pass. Even back in Elementary and Junior High School it was the bad boys that caught my attention. The boys always in the principal’s office, dressed to a tee with the fresh sneakers, cutting school, and hanging with the “IN” crowd. Who knew or even thought that the “outsiders” would grow up to outshine the “insiders”. Most of the” insiders” often got lost along the way. Whether it was from the activities that they participated in outside of school or just being concerned with nothing more than being in the “IN” crowd in school.

It seemed that the “outsiders” were the ones who grow up to be doctors, lawyers, and successful in their own right. Remember the Good Guy who stayed to himself and was not as appealing as the bad boy? Well the Good Guy grew up to be a college graduate with a successful career (SMH). Most of the bad boys have about 5 kids, 3 baby mothers, still in the street, or ex-offenders. (Who got the JUICE now? LOL) At times it still seems are if the Bad Boys outnumber the Good Guys. Or is it Good Girls just can’t leave those Bad Boys alone…

There is always an exception to the rule. You can often find a Good Guy being too good and playing SUPERMAN at the same time. The SUPERMAN is a GOOD GUY often masquerading as a superhero. SUPERMAN is in a relationship with a woman (whom he has saved) that is not his equal (in reference to education, careers, goals, and etc) yet he is providing for her and her family. Its like SUPERMAN doesn’t want the successful, savvy, and independent LOUIS LANE. That’s too GOOD to be true. SUPERMAN wants what he wants, but that doesn’t always mean GOOD GIRLS are in the equation.
