Bruh...YOU DONT WANT TO TAKE IT THERE....

Today while I was doing a little shopping I picked up the film Diary of a TIRED Black Man. I didnt quite know what to expect, but had been seeing it on the shelf for awhile and decided to see what it was about. I must say I am happy I did. I think that the film sheds some light on how OUR BRUTHAS are viewing us when it comes to relationships. They all seemed to have something in common..the number one complaint was that black women were ANGRY (and from my first post...I can admit that I have definately been that.) There was one scene in the movie that REALLY disturbed me. Let me explain.

The film followed a couple from dating, to marriage..to divorce. It also showed how her girlfriends who themselves were in disfunctional relationships, affected the way she treated her man (who was a good man by the way.) One friend in particular was in an abusive relationship. There was a scene where her boyfriend was beating her DOWN and the married couple had to come to her rescue. I began to think...what would happen if myself or one of my girlfriends got into that type of situation. Although I hope and pray that none of us will find ourselves in an abusive relationship...I wonder what my first response would be.

Then I thought about it...I know that if I EVER called Ms.GreenTea and told her that a man had put his hands on me...the first thing she would ask me is if he was still breathing! (yea...sounds crazy...but...) LADIES if you dont RESPECT YOURSELF enough to NOT allow a man to put his hands on you...then you need to reevaluate YOURSELF!

On the flip side of this..we as women have to keep in mind that we should not be putting OUR hands on our men either! When I say this, the situation that comes to my mind is the Chris Brown/Rhianna situation...there were reports of her putting her hands on C.Breezy before "that night". LOOK LADIES...you cant think you are going to keep putting your hands on someone...and that they arent going to put their hands back on you. SO...ladies and gents...to TRY to maintain some type of "peace" I urge you all to KEEP YOUR HANDS TO YOURSELF! If you get in a situation where one party cant seem to handle that LEAVE...no, matter of fact RUN the other way!

Keke Wyatt said it best "When the drama starts to hit the fan, raise your voice but NOT your hand. And you can say the most hurtful things you can..you can yell, scream all those things DONT PUT YOUR HANDS ON ME"

RESPECT EACH OTHER! Be Blessed :)
