SEX AND THE CITY

Let’s talk about being single and living in the City. Sometimes I wish it was just as fabulous as the show SEX and THE CITY, but clearly it is far from it. Actually I’m new to the single crowd. The dating game has definitely changed, the climate and the times. Getting started this late in the game is sure to have plenty factors that may decide the outcome. The factors include, but are not limited to commitment phobia having mofos, fresh out of the long-term relationship mofos, previously married mofos, the game playing mofos (grow up already), and baby mama drama that some tend to have even if the child is damn near grown. It also seems like all the good ones are playing house with the less educated, 3 kids with one on the way hood rats. Maybe I exaggerated a little, but in most cases the female has nothing to bring to the table. Yet, the male is willing to play house. One would think that a professional respectable male would like to find a mate that was equivalent to them. NO one is trying to play the JOAN CLEAVER role, but we are WIFE material. Most females I know (friends, Line Sisters, classmates, etc.) are educated working professionals on the scene but the pickings are very slim. Someone once said, “you meet your husband in college”. Well with that said, I guess I missed out. Coming back to the CITY after college was a challenge. I often tell people try not to look for LOVE and it will come (so Field of Dreams). Will it? Or is the legwork necessary. Do females have to do work on their end hoping that a suitable male is doing the necessary work on his end to find LOVE? I know we have to do the research (Google is a hell of a tool!!) My LS made sure to remind me that V-Day will be a day of pampering for the LADIES ONLY!! Will this continue as a yearly tradition? Or with each year will another one of us disappears, being whisked off by Mr. Wonderful? I don’t know…only time will tell. But for now I’m enjoying the single life wishing it would play out like a Movie! Less Work, More Play!!!

Advice to the Ladies…. as my man Steve Harvey would say Think like a Man, Act like a Lady!!! If you have a good starting line up in the game you only substitute if there is a real reason to do so. Don’t bench key players because you think the Franchise player can handle the pressure alone. Don’t make substitutions and put Fisher on the bench because you think Kobe can handle the pressure. Kobe cannot pass to himself!! I know, I know Kobe is the Franchise but leave all options open until the championship is won and you’ve got the ring…*Hint, Hint*
